Managerial accounting is concerned with providing information to managers – that is , people inside an organization who direct or control it’s operations. Via managerial accounting managers understood that good business results come from dynamic processes , procedures and practices that are well designed and properly implemented and managed. Certified management accountants are qualified to help their fellow managers achieve good business results because they have earned an advanced certification that addresses all important aspects of accounting inside organization. The role management accounts play within organizations supporting decision making , planning , and control. In short , the emphasis in business and the role of accounting should be more about doing business rather than tabulating and reporting historical financial results. Now a days , management accounting plays a very important role for the success of an organizations. The current and contemporary issues of management accounting in manufacturing and service sector is developing the skills of the manager. Besides , Management accounting information is a useful ‘language’ to enable better collaboration between engineers, designers, marketers and other parties involved in product development, including suppliers. Managing suppliers is an important element of controlling production costs, and there are significant benefits to involving them and sharing data and specifications at an early stage of product development. Contemporary issues of management accounting plays an impact over manufacturing sector. Current issues help advanced manufacturing techniques (both production technologies such as robotics and management tools such as just-in-time) led to a reducing proportion of costs being accounted for by direct materials and direct labour. Other parts of the value chain therefore become more important than the production line, for example, relationships with suppliers and customers. Globalisation has increased the importance of supply chain management, as risk and costs increase with complexity. Management accountants can help develop a strategy to manage suppliers so that they fit in with the company’s own lean production methods and pursuit of value added. Management accountants can help companies analyse their value chain in order to understand better where the most value is created; and where costs arise. Using techniques such as whole of life costing, this analysis can extend beyond point of sale to the customer. Management accounting started as a discipline to support better manufacturing decision making. Although the discipline has evolved to also support service industries and not-for-profit organisations, it has also evolved to keep pace with new developments in manufacturing technology and practices. So we can understand how current issues of management accounting plays an impact in manufacturing sector. We will discuss about few important contemporary and current issues of management accounting and how this issues are helping a organization to gain it’s goal and to develop day by day. Some contemporary issues of management accounting are – TQM (Total quality management) : TQM is a set of management practices throughout the organization, geared to ensure the organization consistently meets or exceeds customer requirements. TQM places strong focus on process measurement and controls as means of continuous improvement. TQM functions on the premise that the quality of products and processes is the responsibility of everyone who is invoved with the creation or consumption of the products or services offered by an organization. Cross Functional Product Design : Cross functional product development is a widely used method for involving different functional areas in new product/process development. This process refers direct labor employees are involved to a great extent before introducing new products or making product changes. And manufacturing engineers are involved to a great extent before the introduction of new products. And in cross functional product design there is a little involvement of manufacturing and quality people in the early design or products before they reach plant.

Learning and perception can be related regarding the sensory abilities of the human mind to understand, calculate, and assign learning experiences to our sensory motors. For instance, a child will stay away from a stove if he/she is burned by an eye. At this typical age, a child is unaware of the concept of heat or hot but they can register thousands of experiences through their use of touch. In perceptional learning, human instincts are the accomplices in discovering new and exciting experiences through sensory (Freeman, 1991). According to Freeman (1991), learning has an impact on our ability to perceive experiences accurately. As an example, a child that views domestic violence on a daily basis may assume it is natural. This child could develop an ineffective sensory to pain by observing and experiencing it from a violent adult. In turn, the child may develop an innocent perception that pain is equal to normal. His or her learning of domestic violence is different from others so his or her perception of violence may not affect their judgment during a violent occurrence with others (Perception, 2006). Another obvious connection of learning and perception is the human’s ability to adjust oneself to the visual make up of others in a social surrounding. Debutants contribute to the development of young women and men. Their intentions are to teach social etiquette for proper associations mainly available in higher social classes. For instance, a debutant from a wealthy family may see a debutant from an underprivileged home as an equal if financial status was not a factor. The visual perception of the reality is seen only superficially. As the learning of the financial status of both debutants are known, the image might change one’s perception of the underprivileged Debutant. Compare and Contrast Sainte-Foy and the Chartres Essay

Both the Chartres cathedral and the Saint-Foy have many things in common and also many things that differentiate them from one another. Firstly they are both Christian churches, so they were made to worship Jesus Christ as the lord and savior. They are both located in northern Europe ; the Chartres in Chartres, France as it is named after the town, and then the Saint-Foy in Conques, France. Both of them were undertakings in which they were paid for by the leaders of the cities they reside in. They both are very much a part of the towns they are in, whereas there are building and houses right next to the churches. They were both built in the cross as most Christian churches are built to symbolize the cross of Jesus, their savior. They were both made of stone which proved to have a lot to do with the architecture of the structures. For the most part those are the major similarities. The differences outweigh the similarities though. The construction and architecture of the buildings (outside of the cross shaped naive) would probably be the main differences. The roofs of the structures are built with different support systems. The Sainte-Foy has a rounded arch on the ceiling. While the Chartres has a triangular arch system that use ribs as the main support structure to keep the building up rather than a sturdy rounded arch. The Chartres cathedral was built mostly of rib like beams that connected at the ceilings so that they could make room for the stained glass windows that are to prevalent on the walls. The stained glass allowed for a more holy feeling to the church, in a sense where you stepped into a piece of heaven when inside, as the light reflected off the pieces of glass as they told stories of the life of Jesus and other Christian stories. Sainte-Foy didn’t have that much glass; it was a lot more structurally sound with its walls being made up mostly by stone. The walls of the churches are built differently where the Chartres cathedral has to have flying buttresses on the outsides of them so that there is more support on the building due to the fact that the infrastructure is made up lots of glass. The Chartres cathedral was very much built with a more vertical feel to it than did Sainte-Foy. At almost every instant there is something in the Chartres that is almost pulling your attention upward towards the heavens whether you were inside or outside of the church.

Davidsons Coherence Theory.Coherence and Skepticism - Essay Example It is these two variables that make Davidson's theory widely accepted and appear more legitimate than others. Davidson was not shy in acknowledging the influences to his works and theories and this contributes to the viability and attractiveness of his philosophy. The Coherence Theory of Truth and Knowledge All coherence theories are based on the fundamental position that the truth in propositions is validated by its coherence through a set of propositions. They oppose correspondence theories because of this emphasis on the relationship between propositions and truth conditions. According to LePore and Ludwig (2007, p. 316), coherence theorists focus on the nature of truth as guarantee the link between the belief and truth, arguing that â€Å"what makes for truth is simply some property of a set of beliefs, namely, coherence.†Davidson distinguished his coherence theory from that of correspondence theory by explaining that coherence is a sufficient test for truth. Unlike, the latter, it no longer waits for the confrontation of a belief and the reality, which is a requisite in any theory that requires the production of meanings to be satisfied by objective truth conditions. (p. 154) The coherence is the criterion by which a proposition typified by a set of beliefs is a sufficient i ndication that such proposition can already be equivalent to objective facts. The coherence and the implications it provides enable one to know that the proposition also corresponds. Meanwhile, he distinguished his theory from other versions of coherence theory by explaining simply that the truth condition for a proposition should be that someone must understand it and that "when the beliefs are true, then the primary conditions for knowledge would seem to be satisfied" (p. 154). He went on explaining that people live in different environments and, hence, different experiences. They have different intentions, desires, own sense organs and are affected by internal and external events that are unique to their own existence (p. 155). This variable supposedly highlights how the recognitions provided by different individuals should be enough to confirm that what is being proposed is true. He explained, "a coherence theory is simply the claim that nothing can count as a reason for holding a belief except another belief," and that "its partisan rejects as unintelligible the request for a ground or source of justification of another ilk" (p. 156). The evaluation provided by individuals with diverse experiences, constraints and circumstance is authoritative and considered more effective than other theoretical conditions. Davidson explained this further in his discourse about the relationship between belief and sensations. His argument is that "the existence of belief entails the existence of sensation, and so the existence of the belief entails its own truth" (p. 156). It is clear that sensation, among other faculties and factors, enable individuals to justify beliefs on the grounds of causal relationship. But his view is not as simplistic as those other theories that set great import on sensation. Davidson recognized the role of the senses in theorizing about truth but he did not find it satisfactory enough. His position is that while meaning and knowledge depends on experience and experience ultimately depends on sensation, â€Å"this is the ‘depend’ of causality and not evidence of justification†

While one of the steelworkers is sitting on the beam holding the screw-bolt, another worker is using the electrical screw-driving machine to screw the bolt into the beam until tight. Second, it must enable regulators to monitor and respond to risks. Finally or third, it must provide regulators with early warnings of risks. The subject area of financial regulation is important because we have a highly â€Å"financialized economy† worldwide (Andersson et al. 2010). Accounting is important for managers (Webster 2004). At the same time, accounting financial statements can provide regulators with important tools through which they can monitor the financial system, check on the progress of regulation, and anticipate possible risks so they can be addressed or eliminated (Taylor 2009). Accounting financial statements can also be used to monitor the performance of nongovernmental organisations (Morgan 2010). Financial regulation, however, is not entirely dependent on financial statements because financial regulation can cover all of the economy while financial statements from accounting cover only the economic conditions of firms or group of firms under a conglomerate (Borio and Tsatsaronis 2005; HM Treasury 2010). For example, financial regulators would also be monitoring liquidity, interest rates, capital flows, and other macroeconomic variables, not merely financial statements. Another type of reg ulation also uses financial statements but is different from financial regulation: strengthening corporate governance. Academic research contributed to the sciences or fields of accounting, financial regulation, and corporate governance. In the process, academic research protected and advanced modern living and, thus, it can be said that academic research improved our lives. Although not all journal articles are academic research, I review a few accounting journals to illustrate how academic research has been developing the field of accounting and, relatedly, financial regulation. In doing so, I will attempt to illustrate how academic research contributes to protecting and advancing life (Humphrey and Lee 2004; Sterling 1975). Barth and Landsman (2010) examined how financial reporting contributed to the financial crisis. They concluded that fair value accounting played little or no role in the financial crisis. Conditions for Native people, while still very harsh, had moved beyond the survival conditions of the early half of the century. The beginnings of a project of historical revisionism, which attempted to document—from a Native perspective—the history of the invasion and colonization of the North American continent had inspired a great deal of public interest in Native cultures.
